

Peter represents Aventura's activities in UK based in the Thames Valley which is a hotbed of activity for knowledge-based enterprises and venture capital.
Before joining Aventura Peter was the UK managing director and one of the global senior vice presidents leading American Appraisal with specific responsibility for establishing and developing the practice in UK. Previously Peter spent 25 successful years with PricewaterhouseCoopers ("PwC") latterly as a senior partner with responsibility for transaction advisory services and public offerings.
For more than 30 years Peter has been a successful corporate finance adviser and sounding board to entrepreneurial chairmen, CEOs, and FDs ranging from the Fortune 500 to early stage private businesses. He has enjoyed significant success with rapidly developing corporate venture spin-outs and private equity and venture capital backed businesses and has comprehensive experience of due diligence, M&A, fund raising, IPOs and other exit mechanisms in Asia, Europe and USA.
Peter's experience with private equity and venture capital goes back to his return from manager exchange with PwC Singapore in 1984. He worked extensively with Grosvenor Capital and ECI in connection with their investment in and subsequent flotation of Electron House (a highly acquisitive electronic components distributor).
Peter enjoyed a partner exchange with PwC New York where he worked with Golder Thoma & Cressey, JP Morgan and Charterhouse on several private equity investments. On return to PwC London, Peter was designated as a transaction advisory services and public offering specialist partner with a focus on the Thames Valley and its burgeoning ranks of private equity and venture capital backed technology and bio technology groups.
He has extensive experience of working with private equity and venture capital fund general partners as financial adviser and commercial due diligence reporter on significant buyouts for Charterhouse, CVC, Dresdner Kleinwort and Permira, and smaller transactions for Advent, ECI, and 3i. As part of these assignments he addressed financing, people and markets. The deal values ranged from a few million to several hundred million pounds.
He has experience of leading advisory work on well over 100 assignments for portfolio companies, including acting as financial adviser and reporting accountant for IPOs on LSE, AIM, USM, NASDAQ and AMEX and for more than 20 shareholder circulars.
Peter has a special interest in the coaching and development of the management teams of portfolio companies including participating in the delivery of many training programmes and conferences run by PwC and Henley Business School with which Peter has enjoyed a long association. Peter is an alumnus of Reed Business School and Oxford University, a qualified chartered accountant and corporate financier and a Member of the Society of Share and Business Valuers.
