Wa'el has more than thirteen years of experience in corporate finance and Investment banking, seving most recently as Head of Corporate Finance with JordInvest (a Jordanian based investment company).. Previously he was Head of Investment Banking for Jordan at Al Arabi Investment Group (AB Invest), the investment banking arm of the Arab Bank in Jordan, where he assumed the responsibility of setting up and re-launching AB Invest's Investment Banking Department. His work covered M&A mandates, IPOs, private placements, and bond and commercial paper issuances among other advisory work.

Prior to that, he was Head of Direct Investments at Amwal Invest (a public shareholding investment banking firm in Jordan), which he also helped establish and take public in 2005. He was responsible for private investments made directly by Amwal Invest into selected companies through privately negotiated transactions. He also served as Vice President of Corporate Finance performing advisory engagements covering clients from different sectors, including banking, telecoms & IT, insurance, manufacturing, building materials, media and services in Jordan and the Middle East.

Before joining Amwal Invest, Wa'el was Assistant Vice President of Corporate Finance for three years at Jordinvest He was also a Corporate Finance Senior at Arthur Andersen (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), where he worked for five years performing various consulting engagements, business valuations, due diligence work and private placements covering different sectors in the Gulf Region. His early experience at Arthur Anderson also included the Audit of private and public shareholding companies in the Gulf Area. Wa'el holds a BSc in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and a MSc in International Securities, Investments and Banking from the International Securities Markets Association (ICMA) at the University of Reading, UK.
