Maura Moore is an experienced venture capitalist and serves as executive director of Eircom Enterprise Fund, which is jointly owned with Enterprise Ireland. Maura is a member of the Institute of Directors in Ireland, has a BSc from The National University of Ireland and was awarded a Graduate Diploma in Production Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Limerick, Ireland's first technological university.

She is a champion of high-potential technology-led ventures, innovative business models, venture investment finance and corporate venturing. She has carried out and led a number of international consultancy assignments in the United Kingdom, Central Europe and the Middle East. She is co-author of Global Corporate Venturing Review 2004.

Before establishing Aventura, she was a senior manager heading up new ventures for Eircom plc, driving innovation-led change within the fixed line business of Eircom which spawned the development of high potential start-ups and spin-outs operating in the communications sector, and notably structuring the joint venture enterprise companies that redeployed several hundred staff.

Before that, Maura was Venture Investment Manager of a portfolio of equity investments for Shannon Development (formerly a sister company and now integrated into Enterprise Ireland), providing investment capital to growing businesses. During this time she was one of a team of international consultants who pioneered the establishment of the first seed capital fund for SMEs in Prague.

She has also worked in a quality engineering and senior compliance role with a large US multinational engaged in the manufacture of healthcare (Class III) and laboratory products, and has conducted numerous international vendor audits.

She has served as contract Lead Equity Advisor with InterTrade Ireland (the joint UK /IRL government body) over the period 2006 -2009, providing one-to-one mentoring and 'investor ready' coaching to innovative, high growth early stage businesses across the island of Ireland as well as supporting the ongoing development and operation of the flagship Seedcorn Competition with an annual prize pot of EUR360,000, the annual Private Equity Conference and the Master Class series.

She has assisted national policy makers and investment banks in the establishment of venture capital finance to accelerate innovation, venturing, and entrepreneurship in the Middle East and is a regular contributor to MedInvest, Euro-Med and Arab entrepreneurship, innovation and SME financing forums. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the NCI Business Innovation Centre and is an accredited Trainer with Entrepreneur Skillnet at The Ryan Academy. Maura is founder and CEO of Aventura Ventures Partners Limited, Executive Director of Eircom Enterprise Fund Limited, non executive director of Nowcasting International Limited, non executive director of Sentrio Technologies Limited, and non executive director of Askmoby Limited.
